Have you tried opening a UK bank account as a non-UK person/entity recently? It is not easy.

Anyway, do we know how much is frozen, and whether FIDE has other working bank accounts?

True, but nice to see some British names at the top for a change and the chess is more interesting than the Classic, for example, if maybe less perfect. And Keith v Mark I haven’t seen for a few months.

I wasn’t amused about my replacement for Rashford, who I decided wasn’t going to play much from now on. So it came down to Murray (home v Palace, his old club) or Rooney (home v West Ham, impending new manager). Chose Murray, giving away 26 points....

The simple remedy of imposing a double limit on entries - entrants should be under FIDE x AND under ECF Y - has been rejected by the Home Director. Surely there must be better ways than a low-quality blitz to decide such an important match? The fifth playoff game, just finished, was dreadful.
