Re: Hastings
Cherniaev looks likely to end up on 7 points too, so that will mean a 6-way tie for first place (assuming Sulkis wins too).

Re: Hastings
Danny is the sole leader going into the last round. But he’ll have a pack of 11 or 12 players half a point behind him snapping at his heels.

Re: Prize Money is Out of Control
There is some “trickle down” though Geoff. The prize money in the British K.O. and the FlDE Open was pretty good. By my reckoning British players pocketed just shy of £59,000 between them during this event. I take your point about the same players being invited to play in these SuperGM type tourname...

Re: British Championship 2018
Very nice move to finish but I would have thought there were more interesting games played than that one.

That's a very decent pay day for Gawain and Luke.
Both gaining lots of rating points too with respective rating performances of 2787 and 2768.

Re: Saint Louis Rapid & Blitz 2017
I've been watching the live stream and Kasparov has shown a lot of rustiness in his clock handling. He has allowed himself to drift into time pressure in most games. His only win so far was due to an astonishing blunder from Quang Liem Lee to in Rapid Round 8 (very surprising when you consider he st...

Re: Sharjah Masters 2017
Looking at the final ranking table there was a proper blanket finish - only half a point separating the top 19. In fact only one point separating the top 35.

Re: Untitled player - Record TPR?
Iran ran out winners of the tournament with Russia runners up. Maghsoodloo scored 7.5/9 with a TPR of 2642 to follow his 2862 the other week. Not too shabby for a 15 year old. He's definitely going to be one to watch out for.
