So.... 23. Qb2 Qxb2 24. Bxb2 and the players knock off early? Or will Carlsen attempt to torture Caruana in the ending?
I think they have to get to move 30 before draw offers?

Re: Ding Liren/Liren Ding...

Significantly, on Wiki's List of World Records the section headed Consecutive games without a loss does not reference Tiviakov's claim It's back on there tonight Sergei Tiviakov in 2004-05 - 110 games (57 wins & 53 draws) Ding Liren in 2017-18 - 100 games (29 wins & 71 draws) Mikhail Tal in 1973-74...

Re: Div 3 North 2018-19

Interesting pairing problems to solve as I gather that Manx won't be at the final weekend; suggestion is to pair as an "almost" APA ensuring the top teams don't meet until the final weekend

Re: Cheating in chess

I noticed this. He goes from losing regularly to 50-60 rated players earlier in the year to a hot streak of winning 18 out of 20 games from July onwards, into the U1825 event where he's suddenly invincible. I would imagine the cheating wasn't a spur of the moment decision, but a technique he's been...

Re: 2018 Women's World Championship

Hadn't realised that zero tolerance was in effect. Really? I'm not sure that Pavel has got that right. Pete Doggers report One odd regulation this year is that there will be zero-tolerance for arriving at the games. Most tournaments work with a 15- or 30-minute time for players to arrive after that...

Re: 2018 Women's World Championship

Think that says it all for the format Does it? I hardly ever pay attention to the match format, but I'll pay attention to this 64-player format. It's about the money; the 64 player format is expensive, which is why it normally takes place without (much) sponsorship in places like Khanty (or in the ...

At least White Rose 2 coming down gives us one (very) credible promotion candidate :) Enough teams that would do OK as a second.

Cheating would be looking up the 6 man tables on his phone and finding Kf3, although Kg3 draws as well. (edit) ...
