Re: Victory for the Dinosaurs

Like many here, I love county chess and see it as important so I really appreciate the efforts of everyone involved to help keep it in the best shape possible. I must admit though that when I heard that Sussex had been drawn against Lancashire in the Open section I thought it was an April fools'! Th...

However, if you then click on "Standard games played, last 12 months" yo...

Phew, it's beginning to get expensive! It looks like the Scots pay an annual flat membership fee of £22.

Re: Proposed British Chess Championship Qualifying Regulations

Hi Everyone, I don't contribute often on here and I'm neither involved in chess politics nor au fait with the latest goings on at the ECF. How very sad. No age at all. Sussex chess has lost a fine stalwart. My condolences.

The round 1 games are available on the site now. Rendle's game wasn't a vodafone gambit after all, but he did win.

Thomas Rendle won in 4 moves today. I wonder if that was the Vodafone gambit in action.

Re: April 2009 Council Meeting : Details

What puzzled me is that 180-160 (new) is such a narrow band. Since that event is not very successful, why is it not 185-160? The U175 Division has been much more successful in 2009-09, as a result of the October 2008 rule changes increasing the permitted number of nominations. As is explained in th...

Re: What is the best software to run Swiss tourneys?

I use Swiss Perfect 2.4 for DOS (freeware) which is available at http://www.swissperfect.com/download.htm which I find to be more than adequate for my club's needs. However it is very basic indeed.
