Re: Media comments on chess
Just got my partner to set the Sky Box at home, and she she says its repeated on EuroSport 1 at 7.30am and EuroSport 2 at 10.30am, which https://www.eurosport.co.uk/eurosport-tv-schedule.shtml confirms.
It is titled "Grand Prix Series" and the searches don't seem to find any more.

Re: Rapidplay dates: clarification
Personally I found it easier to make the two days, when I think it was in September rather than October. I went more for the team aspect rather than the individual tournament, so I didn't even look at entering this year when I heard there was no team event. It seemed local clubs to me were put off b...

Re: 2018 grades.
The following statement or similar has always appeared at the top of the Grading website. This is the original July 2018 grading list, based on results up to 30th June. The August revision, as always, will be definitive, as it may include corrections and late-reported 2017-18 events. Many leagues wi...

If it helps or hinders your decision in wanting to come and join us, Redditch Chess Club will be moving out of Redditch for next season, as we will be playing our fixtures at Alvechurch Sports & Social Club, Radford Rd, Alvechurch, Birmingham B48 7LD, https://www.alvechurchsocial.co.uk/

More Players Wanted for Redditch in the BDCL 2018-19 season (Edited with new grade brackets)
Having secured back to back Division 3 and Division 2 championships in the Birmingham and District Chess League, Redditch are now looking to strengthen their squad for next season. We will have teams in Division 1, 4 and 6, and we are preferably looking for greater than 170 players to give us a chan...

Re: Lightning Chess
The North Glos League hold one almost every year as an individual Christmas tournament, and the results over the years can be found on http://www.gloucesterchess.co.uk/lightning.php Whilst the Birmingham League have a team event every March, where this years (last seasons) results can be found on ht...

Re: DGT clocks sale price £25?
You missed it, the offer was raised on this forum https://www.ecforum.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=9364 and they were for clubs to purchase from the ECF. Redditch ordered some so that we could have more than one match on digital clocks, and I believe they arrived last week, although we won't be able ...

Re: National Club 2017
We (Redditch) are currently struggling for enough players to confirm to attempt to defend both our titles.
With two weeks or so before the entry fee price rise, we are hopeful that we can still put in two teams, but it may be only one.

Re: Counties Championship 2016-17
Leicestershire reminding everyone that it is an unlimited championship after putting out an average team of almost 190, despite going on previous years, all the counties opting to progress to the National Minor counties stages. Meanwhile it appears we in Worcestershire will be celebrating (even if i...

Re: ECF enewsletter
Just to add to the list, I received the emails from the ECF in December and January, but I got neither of the newsletters.
However if that is all I am missing and they are put on the website I will likely go the RSS route to obtain notifications of when they are available.

Re: National Club Championships 9-10 April 2016
There were registration lists at the event, and they had registered much stronger players for the Open, so I assume they must have been told before hand that they were the only Open side, and that if they wanted to play then they would have to enter a Major team. This did seem to weaken their lower ...
