Re: Exhausted Tie Breaks

That was clever :) Well done Harrogate.

Fairly sure its the first time Forgrove have been relegated in their existence. They'll very likely come straight back up again of course.

Well, if no one else is writing about it properly, at least you are :) Very good thanks.

Re: Div 3 North 2018-19

Looks like MM1 came up a bit short vs their strongest potential teams. Plenty of depth in the squad but not that much of it is 2200+.

I guess you can always relegate many of the bottom boards from MM1 to MM2 and move the MM2 ones up :)

Jorvik flying amusingly high in the end.

Re: Div 3 North 2018-19

Looks right to me :) Job done for WR2, great effort from MM2!

Amusing to see how high Jorvik can end up - the draw really did end up very kind this weekend! Which was utterly the right thing to do of course.

Re: Div 3 North 2018-19

Well that leaves it interesting :) Great result from the 3C's 2 lower boards to get the 3-3 draw in that match and Manchester winning as well.

Re: Division One 2018-19

Manx are looking pretty handily reinforced as well, so that should still be a big match when they play Guilford.

Re: Exhausted Tie Breaks

I'm slightly surprised anyone bothered Carl about this, yes. I certainly didn't. Rather surprised you reacted so strongly though - both the league result and tie breaks are obviously very much in the public domain and so its a thoroughly natural thing to note and speculate on. I'm impressed you've a...

Re: Coaches and junior organisers group

The software might allow a dedicated subgroup, or you could always just actively moderate to try and cut down on off topic stuff.

Exhausted Tie Breaks

2 teams have finished joint in the final relegation place in the Yorkshire league top division this year. 7 match points each, 37.5 game point. 4-4 draw in their individual match. That (I believe) exhausts all of the leagues 'official' tie breaks. Has anyone got any ideas what else might make any se...

Re: Is this a win?

So although White has the right to claim a win - should he claim a win? Black had a draw in hand and only needed to offer. The fact that he chose not to, and play for an unlikely win should be penalised if the gamble fails. Otherwise you may as well make a rule that says a player in a winning posit...

Re: NCCU website down

Sure he's fine. Anyhow, the Lancs - Yorkshire stage matches are nigh on 'friendlies' (hahahahha!), so no one will care too obsessively about strict qualification rules.

That open match was much stronger than the past year or two. A bit frightening!

Re: ECF Grading Proposals

The other claim is that people simply find it fun to see their grade move about on a regular basis, so might play more or something. Baffles me but maybes there's an effect :)
