Re: Enforcing rules in League chess

On my move. When I need to go to the gents. I will usually let my opponent know where I'm going. Will also ask if they will like a drink as I will buy one myself. If I have an obvious move I will interrupt first. Ask the same question. Breaks a lot of rules but that is the joy of league chess. It is...

Sport climbing in 2020 Olympics with baseball & softball back.
The French may want some local sport. I cannot imagine chess qualifying for the Olympics. Chess-boxing may work.

Re: 4 round FIDE weekenders?

Maybe Ok for sections of 16 & Jack's magic pairings. I'm really not bothered by pairing systems as a choice. It is the quality of those organising, public transport, when compared to my busy life. A third rd can be an issue & if I feel like it I will ask arbiter for a half point bye especially if my...

Re: ECF to scrap its grading system

I think I will concentrate on a response to our board on ECF fees because there must be a must be a hidden cost pressure here. Those that play the most ought to pay for it. Some horrendous cliff edges in all systems. And young people in this country have nowhere near the mathematical skills of the f...

Re: Should the ECF have accepted sponsorship from the Scheinbergs for the World Team Championships 2019?

Let the Governance Committee deal with it. And the ECF.
I voted YES. Are there any other sponsorships out there for the England Chess Team?

Re: Should the ECF have accepted sponsorship from the Scheinbergs for the World Team Championships 2019?

JT I think you are morally dubious & your opinion of my answer is meaningless.
ECF ought to take the money to send a good team to play chess in the WCT. I voted YES.
It is up to ECF on it's stance. Why get involved in any US law debate.
I suggest you put a call to BATMAN.

Re: Div 4 South 2018/19

Best wishes all. I hope that we have a nice day tomorrow. Lots of issues for those flying into Heathrow today - high winds.

Happens in other leagues too. A message that a team cannot play in Kingston on Monday but at least that gives our captain to speak to their captain at this weekend.

Thanks I expect the budget is the budget with help elsewhere. And you get there as quickly as possible. The future European budget ought to have Brexit considerations.

I think that a dubious draw offer should be rebuffed with you must be joking I am expecting you to resign. Many make the offer silently so ought to speak up!

Re: Div 4 South 2018/19

I hope CSC3 return too Neil as this weekend our players that normally play in CSC3 are CSC2 in 3SouthA. Ok so we have Camb Uni 2 so hopefully they will not default 3 boards like Camb Uni 3 as earlier in this thread. Please feel free to speak to our captains/managers at the weekend. I have no idea wh...
