Re: Change to Fines for Non-Members ?

I hope they have got the duplicate Surrey league games out of the data. The leagues pass onto clubs with this years fees. Some clubs may not pass on. That is when may not pay until June and also when clubs own process is not compulsory registration. Let alone our league rules. Fines/taxes is irrelev...

Re: British Championship Congress 2019

Am I the only person that finds it irresponsible that English chess has engaged with someone using the word Sniper for teaching chess to young people? That is with stop and search being implemented with weapons, drugs and mobiles that film crimes being confiscated and extend these powers into school...

Re: British Championship Congress 2019

It has taken away something from other posts on this thread like young Michael Adams play. I'm all for doubling the fees to enter. Especially for those retired on pensions. Banning all internet. Going back fifty years to the odd demonstration board and participants being charged for any printed bull...

Re: July 2019 grades......

it will be on the August update which is one month after the July list.

You still have time to volunteer to help for the Jan/July 2020 list.

Paul, You know what club you play for.
Click on competitions...
e.g. Beaumont cup. click on the cell v Kingston, you lost with black on board 2.

in the lauder final you also lost with white on board 2 I lost with black on board 4.
The last game to finish went the full session.

Re: July 2019 grades......

Check yours on the Surrey League website. The results are only input once. I can be dangerous or awful with black or white.

Some oversights with black pieces on black squares on the dodgy lights at our club.

Mike is wanting to step away from grading so the Board will be looking to some volunteers.

Re: July 2019 grades......

Allow Mike to get the update clear. I expect it will be fine in the AUGUST revision. The basis of our league and county competition start points. Play a ECF tournament now if you want to use that rating this month. For implementing monthly when go live I am going to suggest that each club in the lea...

Re: British Championship Congress 2019

John - thanks for answering question for me.

ALL - What is the answer to Jack's question on top 20 as not clear in this thread.

My sympathy with those that were ill, slept in or left early as appears to happen frequently at the British.

Many need to get back to their day job.

Re: British Championship Congress 2019

So those on +1 in the Championship qualify. Those on 50 percent do not. No wonder the absence of the top players and lack of significant sponsorship. Is the press on rules LIKELY to encourage sponsorship for the next CHAMPIONSHIP.

Re: British Championship Congress 2019

Let's be realistic. It is likely to be Adams or Howell and a pairing in round six, than five or seven.
