Re: New grading conversions

Adam no. Then again the rapidplay grades have lots more anomalies too. I have played about 20 rapidplay games in 20 years. Some players have big FIDE and ECF SLOWPLAY to rapidplay ratings. Was in an interesting section in the London Chess Classic rapidplay. I am trying to work out whether I'm eligib...

Re: New grading conversions

Seen no where that they will publish the test conversions along side traditional. I expect the usual results missing getting accumulated on monthly updates of tournaments etc. I'm far more interested if Christopher Kreuzer has played any chess and whether he will be lower than me on this next list.

Re: 2019-20 Season

Yes it took a long time to get 2 cups of coffee at 10 am. I ought to have picked up a sandwich too. I was not expecting to play 6 hours. Especially when we won 2 defaults to start with.
I thought my eyes were going wonky when I saw Kevin and his team with co-ordinated War and piece shirts.

Re: Membership Doppelgangers

As long as ECF keep annual fee below fifty pounds, have an ECF office in this country, my way is best for me.

I'd be happy to set up the bank account details of ECF with my bankers so I can transfer when I want. But all the while ECF keeps changing systems makes it worse.

Re: 2019-20 Season

Best to commute. I'm now hoping for a lift on sunday. That is my car driver has opponent default today.

Hoping that no one is getting this message with their phone going off.

Re: Membership Doppelgangers

I think it in efficient use of time to type in lots of information onto the website, and also creates opportunity for internet theft from my bank account. I congratulate for the ECF office on my annual phone call to pay. It took less than a minute to pay this this season. :D I cannot remember my use...

Paul also contact ECF, put into congress events here plus local clubs. Our web Publicity is Ed Mospan - we will be happy to put a link to promote local tournaments. Good luck. Nick

I believe they say the same about football and cricket but in the real world the behaviour is exactly the opposite.

Re: FIDE Laws - An Interesting Case

0-0 fine. Charge 100 for an appeal. 1,000,000 if for the world championship.

Sorry but badly drafted regulations on education funding issued on 19/12/19 have led to a correction issued 8/1/20. Plus a meeting with them on 13/1/20. Our work will have our cabinet members approval by 13/1/20 lunchtime.

Re: FIDE Laws - An Interesting Case

As an arbiter make a decision.
The player to make the move ought to be the one that resigned first.
Ensure you have appeal committee for your tournaments.

Re: FIDE Laws - An Interesting Case

As it was an ungraded and unrated game, and I was feeling kindly disposed, I scored it 0.5 - 0.5.

Perhaps Paul -FIDE Laws not applicable in this instance. But an interesting thread.

Re: Tata Steel 10th-28th Jan 2020

Banning headgear may be racist and earpieces is discrimination against those that have hearing aids. Yes that's me. Absence of clocks on the wall is a big zero at Olympia. I cannot wear a watch or jewellery. I think in certain areas the anti-cheating has gone too far. But if the penalties were lifet...
