Re: New National Blitz event

Rumour has it that the bureaucratic 'kerfuffle' is on the verge of being defeated and we will soon be offered a choice of qualifying dates :D I don't want to speak too soon, but hopefully we are about to see a victory for common sense and opportunity. Fingers crossed for you that the additional dat...

Goryachkina draws with A Muzychuk and her nearest pursuer Lagno draws with M Muzychuk

0.5/3 is the maximum she needs to win now
0.5 more than sufficed with Lahno losing to Anna Muzychuk.

Re: Altibox Norway 2019 - the future of chess?

A win for Yu in standard and wins for Carlsen & Anand in armageddon, the other two being drawn. Anand-Ding was an entertaining miniature.

Re: 2019-20 Season

Weekend 5 | Rounds 9-11 2-4 May 2020 Presumably this will have to be changed, now the Bank Holiday has been moved from Monday 4 to Friday 8 May 2020 Just when they thought everything was finalised! I've just dropped the bombshell into Mike's inbox, I guess the May spring bank holiday dates may come...

Re: Candidates 2019

A point swing in the game between first and second with Goryachkina winning (now 5/6) to go 1.5 ahead of Dzagnidze & Lagno. Everyone else on -1.

Re: Candidates 2019

A much better day for the Muzychuks with Anna beating Gunina and Mariya beating Kosteniuk. I think that puts all four of them on -1 after six rounds.

Re: Candidates 2019

Nor am I asking for any personal revelations. Just anything at all. The same goes for all the competitors, but it is natural to ask about the leader. "Dancing, walking, reading, playing with kids and… 4.5 hours of chess per day!" – this is Nana Dzagnidze's motto. That's the sort of thing, yes - wel...

Grischuk - So - Drawn in under ten minutes. Just taking the p!ss. One of the worst games you'll ever see. Utter farce!
The armageddon game also ended in a draw (which obviously suited So as black) but took longer than the classic game
