Re: Reply to Roger!
I actually enjoyed Colm's "rant". Far from being a rant it was a well thought out, reasoned and balanced argument. The responses he drew from Roger were the opposite of that. This disappointed me as I have observed Roger debating vigorously and accurately on other topics. 1-0 to Colm

...when we were treated fairly (re grading conversion) I think that's the second time you've alluded to something like this. For the uninitiated (i.e. me) can you tell what it means? there was a conversion from scottish to english grades that worked for years Sean, it got changed several years ago ...

Re: Games played in Scotland

every offer is conditional, to "presume" otherwise is naive, if it were not it would have been made years ago.

Re: Linares 1995 (1996)
No Linares super tournament took place in 1996, because Rentero (The grocery stores’ tycoon Luis Rentero Suárez and tournament sponsor) had been involved in the world championship match between Zsuzsa Polgar and Xie Jun. I suspect he did not play in 95 due to his (Kasparov's) embarrassment at his...

perhaps Mr Williams (or for that matter Master Williams) could put Greg Breed on to the log burner? Perhaps the acrid smell of sour grapes would be too much.

Justin - Ray Keene plagiarised the obituary of the lightbulb, and CJ and Nigel were probably involved as well. Questions should be asked.
whatever can he mean?

although this string has moved away from the original query many good points have been made. But please watch out for the serious bullying that does go on. Challenge the perp and inform the arbiter/controller. Cheers.
