Re: Carlsen, Anand and Ding Liren to play in the UK

A video of a specially created handmade chess set. Sagar was too polite to tell the Distillery boss that the board was the wrong way round and Kin...

Re: Shannon's number

A very accessible video on this by Numberphile is at: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Km024eldY1A It explains how Shannon estimated the figure based on a rough average of 30 legal plies (half moves) in a typical middlegame position. Another mathematician Hardy had a larger estimate but didn't give his...

Re: ULU Chess Club late 1980's

ULU Chess Club late 1980's

Does anyone remember who ran the ULU Chess Club 1988-89 - probably for many years either side of this.

Think he could have been Mike - but no idea of surname.

Not really Chess history but Chess related, and it is in the past !

Re: Early English Jerome Gambit Games?

Couldn't find any in Oxford Encyclopedia of Chess Games, only 1 irrelevant game in Fritz 14 database.
Probably not relevant to search but 4 videos uploaded recently by Mato Jelic on Jerome Gambit, e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lRHuIJPXLE
