1. Tell them about the board (mentioning square colors optional) including algebraic coordinates. 2. Identify pieces and their movements and starting squares. 3. Explain checkmate as well as you can. NEW CHESS RATING SYSTEM

Effective immediately global ratings for all humans (non players too) have been set to 10,000 Draws will not affect ratings. Ratings will rise or fall based on the formula 250-number of moves of the loser. The combined gain & loss for a game will always be zero. There is no ratings floor or ceiling....

Chess-db.com has Ivanchuk defeating Tiviakov on 12.18.2004 He then had a 74 game streak.
