Re: Unfortunate start and end to county match

Re: PRO Chess League

regarding the cheating, I do know of another way the account could have been closed without using the match up rates, that a fair few players have fallen into the trap of doing. Without even looking at the engine match up rates in the actual games. But im just speculating on whatever 'evidence' they...

Re: Online chess cheating by arbiters

But there would be serious doubt whether any evidence would stand up in a court of law. In that case the evidence probably wouldn't be sufficient to satisfy the FIDE Arbiters' Commission Disciplinary Sub-Committee. Its one of those where you know its happening, the numbers and other evidence doesn'...

Re: Online chess cheating by arbiters

I see there were a fair few questions. I think I worded the question wrong, Nick Faulks post in #13 was really what I was asking. Maybe in hindsight I should have asked the question completely hypothetically like Jack Rudd said, so lets go with that. For the record, Im nothing really to do with the ...

Re: Online chess cheating by arbiters

I am in a group run by a staff member on the chess site where we talk about accounts that are potentially cheating. The evidence provided for the 4 players on the site was overwhelming enough for the site to ban them with 99.99% confidence. Of course they can never be 100% no matter what the stats a...

Online chess cheating by arbiters

I know online chess is a lot different than otb, where the only real punishment for cheating is that your account will be closed, but then many just open a new one and carry on as before. Within the last year on a certain well known chess website there has been 3 International arbiters, and 1 FIDE a...

Re: Imposing Rules for the sake of it

not only that, but our board 4's tyre blew out on the motorway, so we were playing 1-0 down from the start! I expect our captain missed that he was ineligible, the player had played 2 previous Cornwall county matches this season. (Cornwall A v Somerset A, and Cornwall B v Devon B) its hard enough ju...
