Re: Membership year vs grading year

Must be a new record for ignoring the thread title and re-hashing - for the hundredth time - the funding argument. The thread is about how county organisations respond to the funding argument. In general they are finding that the reduction in league fees is less than the individual membership cost....

Help with Word / Microsoft Office

Someone on here must know how to do this.

I am currently completing a job application.

Where do I find or what is the character code for a tick?

I have tried putting a cross but it doesn't look right.

What do you do?

Thanks

Re: Membership year vs grading year

My local league AGM is on Monday but I hope that they will agree to players being able to play 3 games without being ECF members with any game fee to be collected from clubs at the end of the season.

Membership year vs grading year

Apologies if this has already been raised. I have recently been thinking how my local league can cover its potential game fee liability. Under one soultion it would be easier if the membership year was the same as the grading year. Presumably it would also be easier to integrate the membership datab...

Re: September 2011 FIDE Rating List

It won't be a problem for long.

At the CS AGM the meeting decided to accept Matthew's request to change his FIDE code to SCO.

Re: Scottish Ratings

It's not obvious (or at least it wasn't obvious to me) but if you go to grading>search players and change the radio button from search to ranking it will then show you the published grade for the player(s) searched for. There may also be other ways of getting the information as well. If however you ...

Re: Summary of Funding Proposals for AGM

Adam,

Thanks for the quick response.

My gut feeling is that clubs or leagues shouldn't be able to pay to make players members if the players choose not to be members but I can't at the moment put into words why not?

Re: Summary of Funding Proposals for AGM

Transitional arrangements Graded club and league events The rate will be dependent upon the percentage of players in the competitions who are ECF members. Is this at the end of August, the start of the event, when each game is played or the end of the event? Can clubs or leagues pay to make players ...

Re: International Round Up 26/7/11

Sorry to hijack this thread but the Chess Scotland noticeboard is not working at the moment. I see FM Alan Tate is on 4.5/6 in the Czech Open. According to my calculations he needs 1.5/3 from his remaining games if his opponents in rounds 8 and 9 average 2515 or 2/3 if they average 2330 for his seco...

Re: New ECF grades are now online.

OK. If the ECF does not currently use converted grades I stand corrected. The number of games where converted grades used to be used was very small anyway.

Re: New ECF grades are now online.

Anthony, The conversion formula are here. http://grading.bcfservices.org.uk/help.php#elo The second formula in each pair i.e. (FIDE - 650) / 8 = ECF and (National Elo - 600) / 8 = ECF, are the formula used by the ECF to grade games where a player has a FIDE rating or a National Elo rating but not an...
