As usual if you wish to import all of the fixtures in one go for

Re: Chess-playing Fellows of Royal Society

Here is perhaps a less well-known chess playing FRS :

Charles Tomlinson

and

The first article has FRS whereas the second has "member".

Re: Specification for ECF LMS API ?

The ECF recognises that monthly grading will only work if we abolish much workload that graders do at present. We have to develop tools that can facilitate this desire. Brian, can I ask: what tools do you have in mind? Fair request! Given the resources we have, the new system will evolve rather tha...

I remember putting as much in my election address, ..... I was duly elected, so clearly it was a reasonable thing to pursue.
As some of us have learnt many times from history these two are not connected but they might be coincidental.

Re: Specification for ECF LMS API ?

Of course, the point at which three-figure grades cease to exist and the point at which four-figure grades come in don't have to be the same point. They can run concurrently while people adjust to the new system. My understanding from this is at this point (whenever this is ) some players may well ...

Re: Specification for ECF LMS API ?

At present there is no specification available. Brian, Is there a timescale for when this will be available ? (Perhaps there is no intention to make it available and to expect everyone to migrate to the ECF LMS) I need a little time to develop and test the code so that I can drip feed results from ...

Specification for ECF LMS API ?

Apologies for not knowing who will know the answer to this so I'll ask anyway...

Can anyone point me at the specification for the API so that the Leagues using the Chess 365 LMS (i.e. mine!) can shunt their monthly data in to the ECF grading system ?

Thanks !

Re: Change to Fines for Non-Members ?

As a club membership secretary I try my level best to encourage membership of the ECF. If the fine is capped at £16 or £5 (in the case of a junior) then I'm not sure if I need to bother in the future. Do you mean that you would just pass the fine on to the player at the end of the season, confident...

Is this a change of policy?
This was announced at least a year ago.

The cost is per League played in rather than per player.

Thanks Roger : I must have missed it.

I guess it is much easier to administer for the ECF at some cost in lost revenue.

Change to Fines for Non-Members ?

The Treasurer of the Berkshire Chess Association informed me today of the invoice received from the ECF in respect of fines for non-membership. It would appear that regardless of the number of half games played by a non ECF member that the fine to the organisation making the grading return is £16 fo...

Re: English Events in MegaBase ?

I've noticed that over the last four years (at least) that of all the FIDE events that occur in England only the following has the games appearing in updates to MegaBase : The London Chess Classic Of course of there is no obligation for events to send their games to Chessbase for inclusion. Do we k...
