ECF and the World Championship Match ?

Some may be aware that London is hosting a World Championship match between Fabiano Caruana and Magnus Carlsen. The ECF web site or social media do not mention it (AFAIK) Would you say it was the correct decision to ignore the event and pretend it is not happening ? Would other NGBs pursue this cour...

Any isolated case of cheating doesnt change that.

What exactly is an "isolated case" ?

How many isolated cases do we need for the cases not to be isolated ?

And then of course we have the hackneyed phrase "Lessons will be learnt so that this will not happen again"

Re: Brian Gillman

The bulk of the sets of pieces are of Staunton pattern, triple weighted in presentation boxes / cases.

There are two top quality BCM sets I guess from the 1970s / 1980s when Brian Reilly was at the helm.

If anyone is interested in making serious offers then I will pass the contact details on.

Brian Gillman

I was invited by the executors of the estate of Brian Gillman to assess the value of his extensive collection of chess boards and sets of pieces. I could not quite believe my eyes when I was shown around seventy (70) very high quality sets of pieces and thirty (30) boards. Everything was in wonderfu...

They must have put kings in the wrong place - it was drawn.
Thanks Kevin. I hoped it was something like that.

Re: 44th Guernsey International Chess Festival

Can someone explain the reason for Black losing in Heppell-Rowe, today ?

The final position looks to be dead level.

Did Black lose on time ?

Re: ECF Grading Database

I can believe GDPR expecting birthdates not to be visible but not showing age is OTT.

They weren't even real ages but ECF ages !

Yet more stupid political correctness gone wrong.
