Re: Anne Sunnucks/Mothersill (1927-2014)

It is also worth noting that she was an occasional contributor to the weekly chess 'Magazine' programme which was broadcast on the Third Network (the precursor to Radio 3) between Autumn 1958 and Summer 1964. Brian, Thanks for that. I assume that no programnes have survived as the BBC liked to recy...

I gather RDK has now found God. I wonder how many others might have spotted this before me.

Where was God hiding ?

Perhaps GMRDKOBE will start his own church and invite persons to generously donate to it ?

Thanks for that, John. Can you also confirm which property is shown in the photo on the Camberley Chess Club website and when it was taken, please?
I'm not able to do that without visiting Brackendale Close which I might do over the Easter break. I did not take the photograph.

Re: Anne Sunnucks/Mothersill (1927-2014)

May I query "48 Brackendale Close"? I have found three sources, 1976-1979, which gave "28 Brackendale Close, Camberley" as the address of BMS Chess Supplies. These include Leonard Barden's chess column in the Financial Times of 4 December 1976, page 4. Her chess shop was on what is now Duke's Ride,...

Re: Anne Sunnucks/Mothersill (1927-2014)

Thanks Ian.

Camberley has never played at Frimley Baptist Church (Balmoral Drive) but it has played at Camberley Baptist Church (Frimley Road) at the dates you mention.

Re: Anne Sunnucks/Mothersill (1927-2014)

Anne Sunnucks lived at 28, Brackendale Close in Camberley before moving to Yorkshire with her husband Richard C Mothersill. She ran from her home a business called BMS Chess Supplies where the M was for Mothersill and the S for Sunnucks. JDP knows what the B was for : I've forgotten. In around 1972 ...

So having named two board members would you care to name any others.
Please feel free to do that yourself.

I note that you have "run-ins" with others in this place on previous postings. I have no desire to engage in forum ping pong. This will be my final reply to yourself on this matter.

Re: The ECF Academy tender

John - you may not agree with the way the tendering process has been run and there may be other ways to do it, but many people have experience of tendering processes, and your suggestion to date that only two of the twelve board members are competent in this regard is nonsense. I did not suggest on...

Re: The ECF Academy tender

A board with strong experience in the commercial and business sectors would allow (if an option) more time to encourage a wide and diverse number of bidders. I don't know about anyone else on the board, but speaking as a former work colleague (and team mate!) of Mike Truran, I can assure you that h...

Results of ACP elections

In the style of Katie Boyle I report results of the ACP elections as follow : "Dear Members, We would like announce the results of the voting for the new ACP Board. They are as follows: Aleksandar Colovic - 47 votes Pavel Tregubov - 44 votes Laurent Freyd - 38 votes Maria Emelianova - 37 votes Iván ...

Re: The ECF Academy tender

I'm not suggesting anything unethical has transpired. I am suggesting that it is not reasonable to impose such a short time scale to prepare a meaningful and realistic bid. A board with strong experience in the commercial and business sectors would allow (if an option) more time to encourage a wide ...

Regulation No 1 requires this process, regardless of what the Board or anyone else may think of its merits.
What is the mechanism to update Regulation Number 1 ?

A new position of ‘ ECF Slave’
I suspect that this is not a new position but has been established for many years.
