It's just White's moves - though for some reason he did record Black's very first move too.

Now I've Seen Everything Dept - Scoresheets

My Club was recently joined by someone who hadn't played since he was a youngster, many years ago. One evening our bottom team needed a substitute for its bottom board so, at very short notice, we turned to the newcomer. With very few minutes to go, we satisfied ourselves that he was familiar with m...

Here's an example of my own play when outgraded by 55 points. Re: Room rate per week for the room that you play in

A previous chess club of mine played in the function room of a pub. The landlord was a chessplayer himself and even turned out occasionally as a reserve for us. He wouldn't charge us for the room. We stayed at that pub while he was there and we left when he did. The general question of a reasonable ...

Re: EU referendum aftermath

Apparently Corbyn (leadership election victory expected, but not declared yet) will put the Labour Party on an election footing, [...] Corbyn will be putting the Party on an election footing so that his vocal opponents (so-called Blairites but not only) will be considered traitorous in battle. It's...

Re: EU referendum aftermath

The word "clear" is becoming the most abused word of all in this chaos. Brexit means Brexit and nothing more needs to be said about that because its meaning is "clear"; and we must give effect to the decision because it was the "clear" mandate of the 51.9% who voted for it. If you don't like "clear...

Re: Scid vs. PC help

Niall, First of all, I recommend Scid http://scid.sourceforge.net/ over the program you mention. They are similar, but Scid sans phrase is superior, in my opinion. Now, I will tell you a way to achieve what you want though it might not be the way you wanted to do it. Do your search, but then (in Sci...

Re: Grading Cheat or Patzer?

One incident I saw happen... It is the last round of a tournament. In a certain pairing neither player is in contention for a prize. The villain beats his opponent who is now dejected and in any case in a hurry to get home. The villain offers to hand in the results slips for him. He does so, but rep...

Re: What would you pay for a title?

Back to the original thead, i believe that a lot of people I know who learnt chess online don't really care for titles unless it is grandmaster or at a push international master. If I was good enough for a title I wouldn't say no, but I shant be bothering sending my tenner off to the ECF for my clu...

Re: good explanation of board count online

Presumably on the basis of rewarding 'strength in depth' but a silly idea as it encourages 'cheating' by placing your better players on lower boards! Presumably there will be other rules about strength order. Anyway, board count will only apply when there is a tie that hasn't been resolved elsewise...

It is used internationally, referred to as the Berlin System.

Incidentally, I remember seeing at least one English competition being settled by reverse board count.

Re: Disputes with an Associations member or League member

Is there anything in the ECF Rules about this? because there a person i know who need some advice and i did not have the answer for him/her. He/She feel that a member of a association/league has victimised him personal and feel that he/she is being bullied/Prejudice and want some help? also has pro...
