Re: Women's In-Tournament Training

If you think women have more rights than men you have more to worry about than preferential treatment designed to attract more women to chess.

Re: Chessplaying 'Stance'

Re: Doess playing to much online chess effect your game?

I play bullet games online, you don't have to put any effort in and they are over very quickly. I don't think they do much for my chess but they can be amusing. Re: Death of a congress ?

The last time I entered the East Devon in 2009 there had been rumours of its forthcoming demise due to lack of entries.

I have once again sent in my entry form.

One wonders if these rumours turn out to have more substance than they did the last time.

I have a game knocking around the internet somewhere in which my opponent promoted a pawn, about move 16 and was promptly mated the next move. :D

Re: The Barnet Conundrum – the World’s worse cheat?

What a great advertisement for a chess congress! As I am going back into the congress world after more than a year long absence I can't say this thread, and ones like it are making me feel any more confident. :( I'm sure it'll be fine. It's very rare that things like this happen. As long as...

Ah, so it wasn't because he might be passed out drunk on the table.

I'm sure he'd have had a reason, besides it's not like he was the only chess player to say some dodgy stuff.

Re: Does chess involve to much politics?

It might be helpful if you defined "politics" and how much you consider to be too much.

I feel that the little politics that goes on in my club (that I'm aware of) is just about enough to confirm that the members are indeed humans.
