Re: Do you believe in God
We can add your hero, the venerable Lenin ... The list of things I have been called includes: fascist, lefty, Commie, right-wing bigot, anti-Semite (this by an anti-Semite!), Jewboy, kike and racist. It looks like I must add Leninist to it. I have yet to be called a self-hating Jew, but no doubt wi...

But seriously, once you've seen the same arguments repeated year on year it gets a bit tedious.

Re: Do you believe in God
It is sad that I can't help but compulsively follow this thread.
If nothing else, it's both amusing and tedious at the same time.
BTW, there are specialised religious forums if you are interested. Not that I wish to inflict more atheists on them.

Re: Winners and Losers under 'Membership Only'
However, from what I've been told internal club tournaments may be graded for free. Which would slash what my club pays the ECF, providing they do away with their league teams, which considering they only play in all play all 4 or 5 team (4 man teams) divisions wouldn't be too much of a hardship. T...

Re: Winners and Losers under 'Membership Only'
However, it seems better than this membership scheme, which seems to be offering discounts at every turn. Latest being a discount for club internal games, which would reduce what my club pays the ecf to a fraction of what it currently pays. The only discount mentioned in Andrew Farthing's paper is ...

Re: Winners and Losers under 'Membership Only'
Sebastian, you are most likely to be around net neutral, under £18 per annum 30 games equates to approx 60p per game, playing less than 30 games is obviously going to cost you more per game, the question is whether the ECF should be helping the "active players" or "less active players". Personally...

Re: Winners and Losers under 'Membership Only'
It seems there are very few people willing to pay more for their chess. If the ECF keeps giving discounts to all parties they will end up losing money. Which is surely the opposite of what they wish to do. I believe pay per play is the fairest method on offer, this appears to put me in the minority....
