Re: Phil Ehr - Candidacy for ECF Chief Executive

Well if Andrew Martin is correct that puts what Phil Ehr has achieved so far in an even better light. I for one think it's great that so many of our young players are now getting these opportunities. They can only improve by playing these good players and some will be inspired to go that little bit ...

Hi Andrew. I've voted and I've sent this to my Chess Club e-mail list. Best of luck.

New Players wanted for the 2013/2014 season.

Redditch are looking for some new players for the coming season. We play in the Birmingham League, Divs. 3 and 4, and Worcester & District League Divs. 1 and 2. Players of all standards welcome. Our current grades range from 100 to 186, with one or two social players as well.

Re: WHO'S GOING TO TORQUAY?

Really looking forward to it. It's the first time we've played in the British. I thought about playing in the u160 to avoid playing people I know including hubby but when I saw how many 150's there were I chickened out and stuck with the u120! Re: WHO'S GOING TO TORQUAY?

If we are anything to go by there is a considerable lag between entering and appearing on the list. We entered a week ago online and are still not on the list. A friend entered last week and is still not on. So the figures could actually be a lot higher!

Re: The Yorkshire problem

Chess is incredibly lucky to have such dedicated volunteers. Well done Sean and Dave, it would be nice if we could all be one big "happy" family, and your work is taking this towards that outcome.

Re: WHO'S GOING TO TORQUAY?

I like the new look website and the banner link from the main ECF website. Looks good and well set out. Now I just have to decide which section to enter. Decisions, decisions!

Re: Wood Green

In the Birmingham League if you have two teams in the same division then the rules are exactly the same as if they are in separate divisions. That is you register players in grade order ( with a discretionary 10 point ECF buffer to allow for driver balance, finding a captain, rapidly improving playe...
