Re: Record proportion of female players?

That suggests that there were more women players 20 years ago. I wonder how many counties would be able to raise a whole team of women these days in any division?

Record proportion of female players?

Yesterday The Worcestershire team playing Notts in the u120 County Championship included 4 female players out of 12. The Notts team had 3 female players. Is this a record? Both teams were also captained by female players.

Re: BEWARE – Chess Coaching Scams

If you go into the ECF Coaching pages it still says that Andrew Martin is Manager of Coaching.

Re: CEO succession plan

As a percentage of overall workload I imagine running the counties competition is a very small part. This forum does seem to have a habit of wandering off into minor pathways. Is that perhaps because the size of the task is too big to contemplate? However it does touch on an important point about th...

Re: CEO succession plan

Alex I think that you are spot on. It needs to be changed as quickly as possible in the direction you suggest. Things move much more quickly these days and you need to be able to respond quickly. If someone like Andrew can't steer the unwieldy ECF ship as he would like and feels it needs then I susp...

Re: CEO succession plan

A big vote of thanks to Andrew for the huge amount of work that he has done and is doing for the ECF. He's laid the foundations for an organisation fit to face the challenges of the 21st century. He's achieved this in an amazingly short space of time against a backdrop of lost funding and an economi...

Re: January 2012 grading list

I'm glad you kept the old layout because it is so clear and the new information is excellent. I like the colourful graphics and the list of games is so useful. Will games be added as they come in or will 6 months be put on together? With everybody able to check their own results there should be less...

Re: Worcestershire county teams

Well done to Worcestershire u140 beating Staffordshire this afternoon. A good result since several of the usual team members were otherwise engaged with Christmas concerts and what have you.

Re: How many games need for a grade

Sean Hewitt said He or she could play a couple of internal graded friendly games if you wanted. They cost 39p per game to grade if you're interested. I think we should be able to find him another couple of games as we have several league matches before Christmas. If we do and he gets a grade and ma...

How many games need for a grade

I thought a new player needed at least 10 games to get a grade but someone thought it was now 9. Anyone know for sure? We have a keen new player this season who will be playing his 7th game this week. It would be nice to get him enough games to get a grade in the new 6 monthly list.
