If so what will they be?

Re: Chess Player Strip Searched
I think the rule is unworkable to the average tournament such as e2e4 and 4NCL. I trust the arbiters to come up with a sensible solution. How are people able to safely store laptops and mobile phones while they play their last round? At the 4NCL on a Sunday the room is littered with overnight bags w...

Re: Chess in Schools and Communities: Training Courses
I think this is terrific and am pleased to see a course running in Sheffield.
Sometimes I think it's a shame I already have a 9-5 job.
I'll make sure we advertise it on the Yorkshire website.

Puzzling that the Open could only muster 6 entries. Any reason for that?

Re: Chess, Magic, Scrabble! 5-6 April, Leeds
Would love to have had more notice so we could have advertised it better. However, we have advertised it on the Yorkshire site and through social media so I hope it will be a success.
Sadly I have other commitments this weekend.

Re: Youngest/Oldest teams
I think that would be pretty hard to beat Loz. Nice to see youth getting a chance.
I did notice that David Anderton faced Josh Altman on Saturday in the Div 2 b match AD's v Barbican Youth. There can't have been many instances of a greater difference in ages than that for a match?

Check out the Yorkshire site on how to make your own predictions on the candidates and win cash if you are better than the rest.

Re: Graded results
I thought you needed to play a certain number of games to get even a part elo rating. Isn't this still the case. By submitting the results each weekend does it mean a player can play a whole season of 4NCL games but never achieve a part elo rating? I keep being reminded that this has certainly scupp...

Re: ECF International budget
A very good point indeed. England's most succesful generation with umpteen Olympiad and European medals to their name are about to hit the senior competitions. For example I believe Nigel Short will be 50 next year. Indeed the players who came into chess through the Fischer / Spassky match are all f...

Re: Board Orders
The Bradford league has this year adopted a yellow/red card system. If a team defaults a board other than the bottom board in a match then the league secretary with give that team a yellow card. The next time this happens the team will be docked a board point in addition to the default. So far only ...

I wonder if Jeremy kyle can follow any of this because I surely can't.
It seems to have descended into a script for one of his shows!

Re: February 2014 FIDE rating list
I notice Simon Buckley has been over 2300 for a long while but doesn't have f after his name. Does he need to apply to FIDE for his fm title? Is there a fee to do this?
