I enjoyed Meri's position today after 26...Na4. All her own pieces on the back rank, all her opponent's pieces in her half of the board yet she's still winning by miles...

Re: 2nd London Chess Classic 2010
What we 'busy persons' have got is effectively 5 rounds of the weekender (with no opportunity to win that tournament's prize money) plus - for an extra 75 quid - a maximum of four FIDE-rated rounds of chess. And for me it means taking 3 days' annual leave from work. The overall prize money for the ...

Is this correct Adam? I'm thinking of entering the 'busy persons' event but will only do so if all rounds are FIDE-rated.Roger de Coverly wrote:Unless there's a rating restriction on the first 5 rounds, only the last 4 games are slow enough to be internationally rated.

Re: Making a zero default time in all leagues!
3. Why do people play a evening match if they know they will be late or their is a chance of a late arrival. Because most evening leagues are played for the fun and enjoyment of a game of chess? There is usually no money at stake so the only motivation is to enjoy, and hopefully win, a good game. W...
