Charity tournament - ECF question

Is there any dispensation given to tournaments run for charity. I will be running one in next 6 or so months. Before I organise it I wonder how much the ECF would take for a FIDE Blits for example .

Re: Doping in Istanbul

Hmmm surely most of this thread does not matter because chess is not a sport. The game should be ashamed of itself if it asks the same condition that ioc events do.

Re: Telegraph report about Austria

To be fair in Austria surely the bar is set a bit higher regarding parental disputes?

Re: Telegraph report about Austria

Dislike the above really, the search for publicity is interesting. I find the spitting thing extremely interesting from a sociological prospective. In the Middle East and Asia, even parts of Eastern Europe it is seen as a thing to show severe hated/discontent but I have rarely seen it used in Britai...

Re: Olympic Funding

In my view chess is not a sport. I remember getting 1.7k of signatures when 10 years of age for the petition.....including 7 celebrities(Dawn French and Lenny Henry to name but 2). However, Id only want it recognised for pure greed(money). I know the age old thing that you need to maintain concentra...

Karmen Cass is like the president of the Estonian chess federation and is one of the best paid supermodels of all time.

Re: British Championships 2012 - Games

Another team mate of mine William Foo(Reading) looks like he is going to get ground up by Mr Arkell, Qb6 just played, not sure if keith will Qa5 straight away, but e3 later and the a6 c6 weakness combined with Bishop pair makes it 1-0 for someone like Keith.

Re: British Championships 2012 - Games

I like Hawkins to convert after Qxd6. Those pawns have a name, they are in the Dvoerkshy endgame manual as what you want in opposite coloured bishop endings, especially with a rook on.
