If she is an ECF member she ought to be charged with misconduct & bring the game into dispute ....
Leaving aside the question of grounds, does the ECF have the procedures to do this? If so please do explain the procedure and range of penalties available.

Re: Director of Women's Chess

I think I would go further. I would expect that if I applied for a job unsuccessfully that the application should be treated as in confidence and should not be made public (unless the aplicants do so themselves, of course) .... Well yes and no. No being (a)This isn’t a job and (b) exceptional circu...

Re: Director of Women's Chess

Can the names of the other candidates be revealed .... Possibly - although not by me, because I don’t know - but whether it’s a good idea or not is another matter. The internet is not a oniversally welcoming place for women. Particularly when gender issues are being raised. To say the least, abuse ...

Re: Director of Women's Chess

I'm not going to bother registering on the Telegraph site just to point out how incorrect that article is .... An entirely reasonable response. Perhaps you could do so here? I’m not disputing what you say, but the ECF has rather left itself opening to something like this happening. By not having a ...

You think Kirsan cared about "average players"?
Well, at least he didn't have any of us shot. By Kirsan's standards that probably does constitute as 'caring about average players'.

Re: Director of Women's Chess

I wonder if anyone is aware of whether the identities of the other two candidates is public information, and more pertinently the nature of their manifestos/applications? I suspect that would make for good reading. At least nobody at the ECF has yet said, “ Actually we hadn’t noticed that Chris Feg...

Was bit shocked to realise that Carlsen is now 27.

Absolutely!

For my money, JT probably the best journalist writing about chess at the mo. Except I don't have to pay any money to read him. Which is nice

Re: 2018 Altibox Norway

I think it is tempting fate to talk in that manner about a rival just before you are due to play them! That’s what i thought. Mind you it def makes things more interesting that Magnus is willing to say what he thinks rather than just toss out some bland ‘one game at a time, Brian’ type guff Also, e...

Re: 2018 Altibox Norway

Magnus quite possibly thought "job done" after the opening rounds, tbh. And when his trash talking against So blew up in his face, he was poorly placed to adjust. I got into a mini debate on twitter as to whether this was trash talking (my belief) or a mere statement of fact at the time. Perhaps it...

Re: 2018 Altibox Norway

Caruana beat Anand to join the leading group on 4/7. Anand's French Exvhange (by transpo) not as successful as Wesley's Slav Exchange from the other day. Interesting/curious opening choice from Anand. Presumably if he'd wanted an immediate draw he would have trundled down one of the old main lines....

Not sure what Malcolm Pein is doing in this company. Holding his nose, I imagine
There's been quite a bit of action on twitter re: MP these past 24 hours. Not entirely sure why it all suddenly kicked off given that Malc's involvement with Makro has been in public domain for a while
