Re: Direct correlation between ones chess grade and ones IQ?

Re: Direct correlation between ones chess grade and ones IQ?

The only time I came across IQ before was about 15 years ago when a friend of mine and work colleague was the membership secretary of Mensa and he asked me would I like to take over the role of secretary? I replied that I don't think I would be clever enough but he explained that wasn't a requiremen...

Re: Direct correlation between ones chess grade and ones IQ?

I reckon the likes of John Nunn and Jon Speelman would have very high IQ test results...(both of whom I have met and are nice people IMO and would talk to anyone) John Nunn - Oxford grad at 18, PhD at 23, and one whom Carlsen said didn't become world champion because, essentially, he was too intelli...

Direct correlation between ones chess grade and ones IQ?

Yesterday I was reading up on some chess players...Wikipedia...I started with Kamsky, then Kasparov, then Korchnoi. During my research I read that Kasparov is a genius...not just an ordinary genius (IQ 140+) but a super genius. His IQ is 194 which puts him at the 4th highest IQ in the world today an...

Re: Strongest U13 in England ?

well he seems to be a late bloomer and is only 1 year older than Luke McShane and at the age of 36, Hawkins could be at his peak if you follow traditional thinking and statistics that chess players peak between the ages of 32 and 36 however he might be one of those 1 in 500 that defy the statistics ...

Re: Strongest U13 in England ?

Hi Leonard like I said , his father informed me that they are now living in England. That implies the boy is attending school here and there have or are in the process of settling in England. It therefore would follow that he could change federation to Eng in due course but I am sure the boys father...

Re: Strongest U13 in England ?

I played him a few weeks ago and just played a poor game and was beaten easily enough. B.1 in the final of the Hillingdon K.O. competition. I spoke to his father after the game and enquired if they were returning to Singapore (I lived there for a year in 99-2000) He told me that they were now living...

Re: European Senior Team Championships 2019
