Re: British Championship Congress 2019

As a chess player and also a Darts Referee, there is also two side of a story, but I did feel that two of your commons did strike me as interested I am also aware that in Australia the largest 'type' of Chess Cheaters are International Masters. I am not saying Lorin cheated at all, however, when you...

I think Toma and Storey both get IM norms with a win, but that's about it.
I thought that a draw was enough for Storey, his average being over 2370.
A IM norm under a cloud ☁️

Re: British Championship Congress 2019

Lorin is an excellent Chess Coach and player whom I have admired for many years and I have on many occasions complimented his skills to parents as I have seen many students who come to me have had some positive influence from Lorin. I would say he is one of the best Primary School level Chess Teach...

Re: British Championship Congress 2019

Hi all, I would like to go on record with the events that happened today in the British Championships during the round 6 game. During my game with Charlie Storey, I went out to the adjacent room to purchase a cup of tea. When I got back, an arbiter accosted me and asked if I had my phone in my draw...

Re: British Championship Congress 2019

Who will be the next player who will go above 2600? Hawkins, Pert, Gordon or Someone like Ravi Haria or Daniel Fernandez Macshane and short are probably not far behind those 4 either - its a pretty solid era for english chess right now, if we just had one world class GM then maybe we could start win...

Re: The Lancashire Chess Association AGM

I feel that the Lancashire AGM is like a support Bill or else and after 4 Years challenge him, without much success. Urmston Chess Club will be as of 20/7/19 moving from Lancashire Chess to Manchester chess and that is down to the Lancashire President. I will be sending a letter to the Lancashire an...

Re: Just been reading this

just wonder what people think? It's cloud cuckoo land to think there's any real link between membership costs and services, until such time, if ever, that the ECF can cover its base costs of the employed office and the professional representative teams from sponsorship income or Government grants. ...
