Re: Is their a limit on someone's chess ability?
I think mans ability is only limited by the limitations of his imagination and the effort needed to achieve a particular goal, that said I do believe physical or mental weakness's will create a barrier which cannot be exceeded. The key is getting people to reach that barrier. In chess we have peopl...

Re: Time to get Chess back on TV?
Yes Roger, This idea sounds realistic and possibly very much worth a shout, certainly might increase the numbers of people playing chess in our country.
Am I correct in thinking their are approximately 40,000 active chess players in this country this is a very small majority still.

Re: Time to get Chess back on TV?
Yes if we can get some sort of chess on BBC4 I think this would be very practical; the problem which might arise is how would it be filmed exactly?
I mean what can you do apart from a documentary, I suppose you could do certain events and live commentary.
Matt.

Re: Charlie Storey for new ECF President
I think he plays chess for a living maybe he's related to the Monarchy, therefore he does not need to work.
I am also quiet interested in His degree.

Re: Charlie Storey for new ECF President
I don't think controversial is the word think it is more STUPID! Lets face facts the majority of events are adult bound are they not. How many tournaments can you tell me that their is a higher percentage of juniors in than adults, in actual fact I don't think of any. What is the motif behind barrin...

Re: Charlie Storey for new ECF President
Charlie Storey is definitely going to become the new President that is 100% Fact!
Everyone hear is for him...
Congradulations.
I can not possibly comment on Charlie not telling the arbiters but I was told by at least 4-5 people he did not let them know.

Re: CJ Banned?
Paul where is your evidence to suggest CJ was promoting homosexulality, I think the point was he was purely wearing something close to his heart about "Gay Rights", there is a subtle difference.

Re: CJ Banned?
I think the results would be obvious more than interesting.
Charlie Storey would get a majority not wanting him to be president and the majority would think they should not accept CJ's resignation.

Re: Charlie Storey for new ECF President
So far Charlie it seems everyone is against you becoming elected.
But who knows you might still have a chance of that important role.

Re: CJ Banned?
To be honest I don't see why Charlie should not become ECF President he has it all it seems. Why not give it a chance.
Don't see anyone else coming forward.
