As to whether anyone is ever going to held to account for what has been going on during the last 12 months only time will tell.

One of them was recently talking about restrictions next winter.
All we need now is for the PM to promise that this will certainly not happen, so that we can plan ahead with total confidence.

Ah, celebs. You would hope that four undergrads chosen for their knowledge would do better.

Maybe, and just maybe, none us men here bought it.
I was given a signed copy but a lot of my books have gone missing and I don't seem to have it any more. Which doesn't help you at all.

Many would say Winston Churchill, but he lost the first election he fought after WW II. How to account for that?
Almost everyone who spent the war in the Far East, and their friends and families, loathed him. Both of my parents voted Labour for the only time in their lives.

The place for non-chess content on this forum is labelled "Not Chess!"
Surprisingly enough.
Ah, General Chat implies chess. I had actually failed to grasp that.

Meanwhile, almost nothing in this thread has anything to do with chess, and I would ask the Mods to move it where it belongs.
I thought it was always in General Chat. Either way it is now.

He has every right to express his opinions, and he does this in many places. I just don't see why h...

Really we need to distinguish "anyone whose views differ from your own" from "people who professionally peddle misinformation"
I fear you are incapable of doing that.

Re: Talk Radio

they're screaming idiots and cynics who live by provocation and misinformation. Thanks for that Justin, but your attitude towards anyone whose views differ from your own is already well enough established on this forum. Just to be clear, you're saying Kate Hoey and Graham Brady are screaming idiots?

Can someone explain the mechanism by which that will make a difference? I don't understand.

My apologies, I didn't check this properly before I put the post out. No worries, it's just that I was one of the people supposed to have signed that off, and it is surprising what you can miss. So if you're accused of cheating at online chess but are innocent and if you don't have any money to fig...

But mass vaccination campaigns will, for the first time, put enormous pressure on SARS-CoV-2 to adapt, and will select for any strain of the virus that might be able to escape immune defences. That should give our rulers enough slack to keep us nailed down for 2021, if that's what they have in mind.
