Re: ECF Elections 2015

The ECF has no Manager of ITC. It would be hoped that such a person would have been able to prevent or cure the commentary problems that existed at the British. Such a person if they had existed would have reported to Bob Kane. ... Since when does the vacant post of Manager of ICT report to the Com...

Re: Media comments on chess

Earlier this evening 6-30pm Radio 4; The Brig Society, a comedy show hosted by Marcus Brigstock, talked about the House of Lords.

Marcus said that bishops of all religions should be in the House of Lords - including chess.

Re: ECF Elections 2015

There have been discussions this afternoon in the other place concerning Buckinghamshire's role as one of Alex H's nominees. (Women's chess development fund page 4). As their Council rep, I am writing to set the record straight. When Alex asked me for nominations, I consulted with the Buckinghamshir...

Re: October 2015 FIDE rating list

The discussions about norm regulations - interesting though they are - are off topic in this thread. Back on topic - Daniel Fernandez is in the top 100 Juniors List, and Ravi is only 5 points off number 100. Akshaya is in the top 100 Girls list, and has been since the British. Does anyone recall the...

That goes without saying. Only ECF Directors, Officers and Election Candidates are bound by the Standards for ECF Officials, not forum contributors.

Re: ECF Elections 2015

The mud slinging over there continues but anyone else would probably have been moderated to be honest. The problem is that there are double standards. Standard 1 - The moderators would act under the T&C's of the other forum which refer to abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, s...

Re: Jack Rudd's election Q&A thread

Hi Jack

Thank you to the answers to my questions (middle of last page). The first one was not what I was expecting, but shows independence of thought, which would be an asset for the board.

Re: Jack Rudd's election Q&A thread

Hi Jack

A couple of questions.

In your roles of ECF Officer or Election Candidate, have you ever been advised not to post on this forum?

What proposals would you like to see in Gareth Pearce's Constitutional Review Report which is being presented to Council?

Re: Standards of Conduct for ECF Officials

The suspension was effective from 25th August, which may explain why Alex has not responded to an email I wrote to him on Monday.

Does someone know, was the email that caused this issue just from Alex to Bob, or was it copied to others?

Re: Ian Ponter

I have known Ian from the time he started playing tournament chess in the mid 1990's. As a key member of the Downend Chess Club social group that was at every tournament, he helped to ensure their combined friendliness extended equally to non-club members. My thoughts are with his grieving family - ...

Chess Player wanted for Human Library

As well as being a member of Bourne End Chess Club, I belong to Wycombe Sharing of Faiths,a multi-faith group based in High Wycombe. They are organising a Human Library and I have copied the details from their flyer below. The main purpose of the event is to challenge common stereotypes. If anyone w...
