Re: 4NCL November 3-4 round-up

Lovely report Lawrence and some good photos from Chris and John - you could put these in a book and sell it at the end of the season to feed the poor/pay for some coaching at the end of the season! :)

Re: Junior squad/Kasparov simul in 1986

At that time the British, London and junior squad U21 events were all very strong, and my understanding then was that the definition of junior for using funds from Lloyds Bank and the Slater Foundation was under 21 ...

Re: Outcome of membership scheme

I think the membership proposal drawn up last year had little understanding of how junior chess organisations would react because the board did not attempt to discuss the proposal with the larger junior organisers who ECF grade their games.... ... for most juniors their ECF grading is nice to have ...

Re: Up date on Peter A Williams

That one of our top juniors may or may not be continuing to play chess may not be of particular concern to most in the world of English chess - I think it is relevant on this particular forum. I can think of other more excruciating and less relevant topics which have been discussed of late. For thos...

Re: Up date on Peter A Williams

Thanks for the update Peter. I personally find it really impressive that Peter jnr. has managed to reach a slowplay grade of 231 at the age of 16 while doing all that. Congratulations to him! I agree! Peter is a lovely, confident and bright young man! Peter's chess grade is amazing for his age. Con...
