Re: Richmond Rapidplay 101

Richard your idea is quite an amusing one, but I am happy for anyone who gets 4.5/6 to opt to have their main prize/free entry into the next rapidplay. Again, you can't do both ...

Re: Road to Grandmaster

I have to say that there aren't that many GMs out there who are really good with the "weaker" chess players. It's not about playing strength but how you can relate to the players and gain a rapport etc. In my experience working with lots of GMs, I really rate Neil McDonald and Chris Ward. I have bee...

The tournament will now be rapidplay FIDE-rated in the top two sections. I believe that for now, you do not need to be a member of the ECF in order to play in the tournam...

Re: World Schools Chess Championships 2012

I believe Hillary Altman is responsible for the reports! There will be some on my blog too: http://www.chevanneschessacademy.com/category/blog/ (and there's another adorable photo of Callaghan!) but I was behind with the results, so only round 2 pairings are up. Was coaching fo 12 hours yesterday so...

Re: WCCA World Childrens Chess Academy

No, Sabrina, the Zollner Trophy is awarded to the Northumberland Individual Champion -it's not a league. But yes, it is not an Open Championship, being run within the NCA. The Viking trophy - for a photograph see the 2012 British Championships website - was presented by Louis Zollner to the NCA on ...

Re: WCCA World Childrens Chess Academy

Also, this Zollner championships, isn't that a league as opposed to a open tournament? That surely doesn't count. Or shouldn't count.

Re: WCCA World Childrens Chess Academy

Ooooo I could make loads of money here. For a start, your title is wrong - children's requires an apostrophe. Then, independent is spelt incorrectly.

There are several words which have capitals used uneccessarily too.

Not sure you should be promoting using illegal moves to teach children though.
