Graduates are more likely to be trained to do that. Is that really just my experience? At the very least,...

Re: CHESS December 2008 - Pein's editorial

IMHO, Holloid have to make a clear and concise statement as to what they are going to do, this statement should be signed by Holloid’s MD, only then will we know what Holloid’s true position is. I'd like to see this too.... as it Holloid who promised the free sets or was it Fergus Christie who ...

Re: OLYMPIAD 2008 :):)

I don't know if having only one sub instead of two maybe changes the criteria hugely. Previously you might have liked to have the option of a sub who had a result-orientated style: that would be Stuart, I think, though Simon Williams also comes to mind as somebody of that nature too. With only one s...

Re: OLYMPIAD 2008 :):)

Dont they represent our country amigo?? I believe they are doing so in chess, and not in another sport entirely. If you have some reason to believe that she is not doing her job due to insufficient commitment, you say so. Otherwise it's absolutely none of your business who she supports in any match...

Agree with you there Ben. Can't be too inspiring to female English players to have a place taken off them, or for English players to subsidise someone only recently arrived in this country. I don't agree. (Declaration of interest: I'm an ex-pat and may therefore be biased, or at least see things fr...

Re: CHESS December 2008 - Pein's editorial

Outgoing CEO Martin Regan first found about this scheme on the ECF website.

This isn't quite right, is it?

I agree with some of what Malcom says but I'm not sure he's got all his facts right and I too think he's a bit too kind to Holloid.
