Re: Recovering from a bad run of form

Hi Thomas Next time I will charge you a large sum of money for the advice and then you would most certainly take it, instead of mistakenly playing one extra game. Andrew It was a match I had already committed to playing a few weeks ago. To my surprise I played a really nice defense after my opponen...

I'm hoping I won't have to face Felix in the U16s. I remember playing him 2 years ago and very nearly drawing with him before ruining an easily drawn K+P ending...

Re: Nigel Short Tour 2

I know in the Cardiff one I got stuffed up, but Tom Brown and Tim Kett (both over 2000) drew and a 1900 player beat nigel (can't remember name. I'm thinking Charles for some reason) after nigel missed a simple in-between rook check winning a bishop.

Re: Recovering from a bad run of form

It's mainly missing the plans altogether, although I have rejected some perfectly good ones in the past few weeks!

Re: Recovering from a bad run of form

Thank you all for your responses! I didn't expect so many good suggestions. I have a league match tonight (which I'm going into with lots of positivity after watching a few youtube clips from Andrew Martin and Peter Lalic) and then have a nice break where I'm going to deeply analyse my games. At the...

Recovering from a bad run of form

Hi all After having a very successful start to the season (being unbeaten in 15 games, winning 11 of them) I've suddenly hit a real rough patch in my chess. My ECF is 150, but my playing strength is around 165ish, yet recently I've just been playing bad chess with the wrong plans, and I continue to ...

Re: BRITISH CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS - THE GAMES

Mickey Adams is the new British Champion! Not as such.... Successfully defends his title (not that pedantic a correction). But unlike last year, not outright winner, but via a playoff. And a lower score this year. I agree with Paul McK that Nigel both played better in the tournament and would add t...
