Nepo 0 - 1 Giri Frankly, even I could defend against Nepo's weary frivolous sac. Free point for Giri
No disrespect, but I woud have Nepo down for 100/100 if he played that sac against you. (Or me)

In answer to the poll question that started the thread - there were 41 draws

Re: Quit Stallin'

They are not all that hard, and that is the point of them - it is about pattern recognition rather then the "satisfaction" of solving some utterly absurd composed position that takes hours to find a king shuffle. Still, to solve al the puzzles twice is 15 puzzles per day for 2 years. That's impress...

Lazlo Polgars tactics book, for example, put about 40 points onto my rating after I read it a couple of times.

But not a game where time trouble was relevant really.
He had 8 mins plus left after 14 moves played. Surely that makes holding a difficult position near impossible.

Re: Netanya Masters

It was an error-strewn game and the eventual ending should have been drawn, but Eljanov couldn't handle Luke's united passers. I was following it with a decent engine, and on the whole the game was well played by both, until the final error from Elijanov. I don't know about elsewhere but the 'house...

Kevin is keen on the idea. I'll find out tomorrow if the venue has the 1500 square metres the event would need.

On the website it says
We have two halls, with a total area of 588 sqm

Nor am I asking for any personal revelations. Just anything at all. The same goes for all the competitors, but it is natural to ask about the leader.

Re: You Think English Juniors are Underrated ...

I noticed many juniors scoring very well in the recent 4ncl Basingstoke congress, U2050 section.

Out of 17 juniors born 2006 or later. 14 gained rating points. The average rating gain of the 17 was 32 points.

Well you may look a bit silly when you find I am right Nick Burrows. I am not responsible for your poor research. Please explain where my research failed. I counted all of your ECF rated tournaments over the last 10 years. Are you counting unrated opens? I look forward to your explanation and contr...
