Re: Loss of sponsors / sponsorship

I believe that the exchanges on the forum blamed for possible loss of sponsorship was the 'spat' between Andrew Martin & Charles Wood. A major aspect of original project proposal was the formation of regional chess academies with paid coaches going into schools as part of the 'free sets package'. As...

Re: Fergus Christie & Holloid Plastics - some news

I must say that I find some of the recent exchanges dispressing and unhelpful. When this project first became public knowledge I contacted key people involved to express my concern that it had the capacity to hugely embarrass or indeed bankrupt the ECF. Should storage, handling & distribution costs...

Re: GRADING ANOMALIES

I'm fairly new to the forum and enjoying most of the debate, comments, explanations, diagrams etc about the 'New Grades'. A common theme is the 'under grading' of juniors, particularly those entering the system. As a former BCF/ECF Director of Junior Chess & Education and a 25 year involvement in en...

Re: Printing a chess position

Thanks, I'll check the options in print setup. It's very frustrating as I've managed to insert diagrams previously but not finding the solution on this occasion.

Re: Printing a chess position

Simon, appreciate quick response, followed you instructions and had no problem creating a position. Followed the goto print instructions but came up with letters & numbers etc diagram rather than a chess board & pieces diagram. I'm begining to think it may be a problem with windows vista. It worked ...

Printing a chess position

Help!! I've forgotten how to create a chess position starting with a blank board using ChessBase 8. I need it to print puzzles for juniors and updating the Certificate of Excellence Scheme.

Re: Nominations for October 2008 AGM??

I wish to put on record that I agree with everything expressed by Martin. To challenge the International Director, who took over in quite difficult circumstances and kept 'the show on the road' and I believe was successful in getting some sponsorship, is not appropriate. I wish Stewart every success.

Re: Any News?

Has anyone seen any updates available anywhere (that I could quote...) on what seems this now rather secret project :?: It would be good to know what is happening. As join author, together with GM Matthew Turner, of the Certificate of Excellence which I understand is to be part of a package sent ou...
