Re: World Schools Chess Championships 2012

Whoever is responsible, keep up the good work. Thought it would be difficult for you Sarah since I believe you are still in the UK but the reports seem to credit you as your name is at the end of the two posted.

Round 2 much better for the team, well done. Reports and great photographs on the ECF website. Like the team t-shirts, check out here:- http://www.englishchess.org.uk/?p=18882 For supporters here in the UK it's good to have the various bits of information being posted, it's a poor second to actually...

Re: World Schools Chess Championships 2012

Hi Carl
Sarah posted this morning just prior to my response and I cannot see it now. Sarah had made a comment that her son's opponent in R1 did not have a DOB and that her husband had said that passports had not been checked.
Not a problem just not sure what happened.
Cheers
Peter

Re: World Schools Chess Championships 2012

Morning Sarah There are many players shown with just the year of birth which I find strange as I believe the entry form asks for DOB. On another matter, concerning pairings, I note that in R2 in the U7 Open there are 35 players including 16 ROU!!, 7 ROU are on zero yet a RUS gets the BYE. In the U11...

Re: World Schools Chess Championships 2012

Morning Jim, I can go back 15 years and confirm the order of ranking has been FIDE rating then alphabetical in any score group. One consequence of this (I think already mentioned somewhere) is that player 'Adams' will tend to get any upfloat and player 'Zang' in the bottom score group would get the ...

Re: World Schools Chess Championships 2012

Hi Lawrence Just got in from a jazz session, greatly appreciate you having done all the work to post results and round 2 pairings. Notice that AZE had many defaults, was this a transport problem and not meeting the 0 default start time or no-shows? Confusing because some AZE did play. All the very b...

Re: World Schools Chess Championships 2012

The pairings are now available on the official site http://www.wscc2012.ro Not sure how accurate they are, all our payers have opponents and now we know not all showed up and some have opponents who are not on the list of entries I printed out yesterday. Hopefully things will be more organised for t...
