Re: Difference between GM and IM/FM authors

There's a book which advocates playing 1 .. g6, 2 .. Bg7 3 .. c5 against almost everything. Whilst the option by White of playing an early h4 is mentioned, it is rubbished on the general grounds of some rule about meeting action on the wings with moves in the centre. Whilst all very well, it doesn'...

Re: Imperial College Congress 1 – 3 February 2013

Imperial College could put the same link that Adam gave into their report, and/or use the embed code from Chess Microbase on their site to allow people to play through the games using the Chess Microbase games viewer. No subscription or login required, as far as I know, and you don't need to create ...

Re: Adrenaline, Nervous Systems and Psychological Pressure

Hi Nick, I had this same problem when I came back to chess in 2008, after a long gap. After a few months of playing more regularly though, I was able to think a bit straighter at the board. Some ideas: - I wonder whether walking around from time to time would help to reduce the adrenaline in your sy...

Re: How many players have won or drawn a game losing there q

Here's a game where I was a Q and R down after 15 moves, but managed to draw. I accidentally played the Shirov gambit a move late.
