My gut reaction is that the Major section seems quite small at the moment, so increasing the grade limit there might be positive. Thanks for your comments, Matt! I am considering what to do about the sections at Golders Green, currently Open, U160, U130 and U100. Tournament Software

Andrew: SwissPerfect is now called 'League Watch', and I can highly recommend it as a flexible, intuitive and very stable program. I have used it to run international swiss tournaments, and weekend tournaments. There is a free trial, but registration is quite cheap ;-)

Yes, we will have words with players who insist on playing blitz during matches - it is unacceptable, and I apologise. However it is not fair to compare a small chess club to the 4NCL, which usually takes place in a purpose built conference facility or a hotel with appropriate staffing and signage. ...
