Re: Covid-19 - Suspend Chess Immediately
The success story was that I nabbed the last bottle of Southern Comfort, so at least one vital food group is covered. Plenty of gin in Sevenoaks, but Southern Comfort? Give me the virus instead! Seriously though, my daughter’s school in Manchester closed since the weekend, Sevenoaks School closing ...

From today's Times... "Grandmaster Manu Tuilagi and Henry Slade have all the right moves Slade, left, and Tuilagi have formed a solid partnership on and off the pitch “When you attack you have to go all in,” Manu Tuilagi said yesterday. “As soon as you let your foot off the gas you’ll be losing.” Th...

Re: Shortest game
About 35 years ago I was Black in a game in the Insurance Chess Club Inter-Office Competition which went 1. d4, d5; 2. c4, e5; 3. dxe5, d4: 4. e3, Bb4+; 5. Bd2, dxe3; 6. Bxb4, exf2+; 7. Kxf2, Qxd1; 0 -1. I was rather disappointed. Neither before or since have I had the opportunity to play 7. Ke2, f...

Re: FIDE Cooperation Agreement with Coca-Cola
Hi Simon - is it a good thing that large multinational corporations are allowed to get away with low ethical standards? Most sensible people would say that forcing people to work in inhumane conditions, diverting local water supplies to service bottling plants etc was not a good thing! This is a fi...
