Wow, that is pretty heavy flooding - first I have heard of it, were any chess players affected? Hope you raise a good amount to help rebuild the flood walls. I'm not aware of any chess venues being affected, but I have no idea if any of the players have been caught up in it. I know a couple of ches...

My view is that arbiters should always be paid. They are providing a professional service to enhance someone else's leisure time. I can only see the top 13 boards on the LCC website but apparently there are 19 boards being broadcast. Any suggestions on how to see the other six boards?

A tactical skirmish game is fine and it’s in those games that you think you are doing well. But what makes a great player is finding waiting moves in the early part of the game.
