Re: European Team Championship 13-22 November 2015

Gunnar Bjornsson's wife, Andrea, was kind enough to drive me to a clinic on the first Sunday. Unfortunately, I almost certainly got an incorrect diagnosis. Furthermore, the medication that I took before my game against Armenia, caused drowsiness. The doctor had omitted to mention this side-effect, a...

Re: European Team Championship 13-22 November 2015

Re: European Team Championship 13-22 November 2015

I am not sure where this quote has come from. There was a good team spirit in Reykjavik - certainly among the men's team. Luke was surprisingly out of form (he played fantastically well in Vegas) for reasons no one entirely understands. I was unfortunately ill which is why I didn't play more. Given ...

Re: George Ellison RIP

Very sad to hear that. Played him a few times over the years - even at his home on one occasion.

Re: Media comments on chess

I never said women cannot think logically to play chess. That is a wicked misrepresentation of my views.

Re: LIC Tournament Calcutta, 16th-24th March 2015

I had food poisoning and was up half the night. Glad that I didn't lose. By the way, we have a fast time-limit of 90 minutes plus 30 seconds. It is not conducive to accurate play in complicated endings.
