Is Aaron threatening ...Bxb5, even? (lack of knowledge of basic endings coming in here)

Has Nick P made a mess of this? I have the impression he expected resignation after Rf7 and missed ...Rc5, and that Rf7 probably wasn't the right move.

Bridge is a much wealthier demographic and tends to occur in nicer venues. Mind you, I'm not convinced the entry fees are much less, bearing in mind that they are often quoted for a pair or team of four.

Speaking for myself the main reason I don't play the British is that it's two weeks off work whereas a continental nine-round open is almost invariably nine rounds from Saturday to Sunday, thus only one week off. This strikes me as a futile debate. Nigel is correct; no-one who cares about English international chess thinks that GW is anything other than an embarrassment in his present position.
