Anyone for looking up a game from 1962?

Does anyone have year 1962 of BCM or CHESS? Would you mind looking up this game? A friend is interested in the full game score. The tournament is logged into britbase, but without any games: http://www.saund.co.uk/britbase/brit60.htm#1962 Thanks in advance. [Site "Bognor Regis"] [Date "1962"] [White...

Re: How to get a blog to show up on google

My niece is just starting an MA in the History of South East Asian art and has set up a blog but it's not showing up on google. Any ideas? For anyone interested in South East Asian art, particularly Chinese here's the link http://shanghaiedcharlotte.blogspot.com/ Blogger is run by Google themselves...

Re: Elo or Clarke national grading list?

It would be two different systems. A national one, and an international one. The international one will be done using the Elo system. My question is how should the ECF do its national one: in the same way as Elo, or in the way it does now (Clarke)? What some people here seem to think is that your n...

Re: Elo or Clarke national grading list?

The poll's a bit misleading. Elo is a calculation method, mentioning FIDE muddies the waters. You would have both a national Elo and an international Elo which would probably differ. Not necessarily, you could just drop the ECF rating and promote FIDE Elo rating. If the FIDE Elo rating covers the v...

Re: News from Twitter

Yes, I could; and presumably must - if only to clarify what I'd assumed was self-evident. To be gay and appear undressed in a gay magazine is one kind of 'problem'. As I read it, Krishna has no difficulty with this. But she has no problem either with a woman appearing undressed in GQ which is, if I...

Re: News from Twitter

What if you were a parent of a chess-playing child who was thinking of joining the ECF ? Would this encourage you to join? What if you were a gay person who is an ECF member or was thinking of joining the ECF? Would all these concerns around the actions of the ECF President encourage you to renew/j...

Re: Descriptive notation

I changed to algebraic in about 1973. At the time, I felt it was a bit like going decimal. Ah, I think we should have retained imperial units, especially with money! Why stopping there? I'd suggest we bring back Roman numerals as well. What about chess descriptive notation with Roman numerals? 1. P...

Re: ECF Grand Prix sections

Personally, I don't mind whether the award includes a cash-in-hand award; a discount or even no prizemoney - I just don't see why the winner of one section should be given anything different to the winners of the others. You might as well say, there's no reason either why those prizes should be the...
