Re: National Club 2017

Its a disgrace that the ECF should degrade its own heritage tournaments. This tournament should be promoted to every club in the land. A team of four is an ideal number for an outing by car once a year. 4NCL directors recused themselves from the vote ~ good, but what about the ECF directors on the 4...

Re: WC Match 2016 - New York 10-30 November

It seems Agon were looking for some volunteers at the venue , but it seems Fischer boom players are deemed to be too old ! I noticed this on the AGON website ..... " We need some friendly, self-motivated and responsible volunteers, ages 18 to 40, to welcome delegates, provide navigation, customer se...

Re: Ask the Directors

Ouch !! Paying 11k corporation tax after asking the membership to find another 10k in fees (£1 rise)
surely timely tax planning could have reduced the bill. Would Digital boards be a qualifying asset?

any accountants care to comment....

Re: Board minutes

The CEO does seem to be guided by the adopted ECF communications document , and its policy of openness towards members .

Mike,
It seems that you take every opportunity to bully Roger on whatever thread he contributes to.
This forum would be dull without his questioning posts and research.

Sometimes its not really checkmate

I played in the British Blitz on Sunday . In one game I was white and checked my opponents king which was on g7 from d4 with my Queen, he responded with Qh3+ announcing Mate ! he did not press his clock. I Claimed the game because of the illegal move. We summoned an arbiter, whose first question was...

Re: Finals day 2 July

What they don't tell you is that..... Middlesex are in the final because the other semi-finalist couldn't raise a team , despite them getting a bye into the semi and been given six months notice! Middx get 3 days notice of default and incur costs (rail fares etc) Surrey Lancs Home director overrules...
