Re: Anand v Carlsen
Meanwhile, those of us watching the game live on our tablets using the "Official App of the FIDE World Championship Match 2013" eagerly await Anand's first move. One of the Duke of Edinburgh's inappropriate comments does spring to mind. The app updated a few times during the match and seemed to get...

Re: Anand v Carlsen
Google translate gives BBC1 as the translation of NRK1. So somehow, I would assume that's where the mistake came in. Google translate also gave supermarkets "Sboncen" for "Orange Squash" and "Pwyliaid" for "Polish" here in Wales. Unfortunately, Pwyliaid is the word for people from Poland, not the Pl...

Chess Apps
I just moved with the times, and gone from Blackberry to Android. I have a nice new samsung galaxy s4. I'm trying to work out how to do basic stuff with it atm, but once I'm done I'd like to add chess apps. Any recommendations? I'm particularly thinking of tactics trainers, chess engines, online pla...

Re: Letter to Mayor of London from Moscow Federation
I don't understand your estimated figures however, and I don't see what relevance a seperate grading system has with a loss to the ECF. I was trying to estimate the number of games played in the local Yorkshire leagues which aren't graded. So if a league has 30 teams, each with 6 boards and each te...

The local voluntary council will have an off the shelf one for you, which would satisfy all requirements as to grant funding etc.

Re: 2014 British Championships
How does the british champs work? Can I enter in a minor type section? Or is it all by qualifying. I may as well pop along next year as it's in Wales.

Re: Grading timetable (June/July 2013)
I haven't played since 2007 when i Had a 70 grade, I come back, play one season of 25 games, and find i'm a 115 :D And everyone else who I played in 2007 seems to have a significantly higher grade too. Now I'm sure they've improved, merely by the fact that they have 6 years experience to guide their...

Re: Chess diagrams
And thanks from me John. I'm just having a look at setting up a blog for our chess club and it's members and the ability to add diagrams makes it more interesting. Does anybody know a way I can make PGN's readable on a blogger blog?
