Re: London chess classic

Also there is now information directly on the LCC website, to be found when clicking on the Festival Events tab. The information found here is a hybrid mix of that shown on the entry form and the T&Cs, but not consistently one or the other. Anyway I've now emailed them asking for clarification.

Re: London chess classic

I've just noticed something about the entry details. https://tickets.londonchessclassic.com/tournaments.php#fide Why? Last year there was no lower limit on the rating prize. If they want to discourage lower rated players, why not do it the honest way? Exclude players of 2049 and below from the Open...

It would be really helpful if the dates for the London Chess Classic could be confirmed soon.
Impressive! My request was answered within three hours.

Re: 2019 British

Well yes, that too. The London Chess Classic festival in December hasn't been announced - presumably because one of the emails on the topic in my inbox requires me to do something, and it's less than four months to go until that. OK, you can guess that's in London, but the dates aren't yet public. ...

He's also listed as having entered the Berks & Bucks Congress in Maidenhead over the coming bank holiday weekend.

Re: British Championship 2018

Well at long last, the inputting for the British Championships is all complete! Many thanks! And apologies for all my scoresheets, which must be an inputters nightmare. Whenever I know they will be input, I vow to myself that I will be more careful with my recording, only for it all to fall apart w...

Actually tickets were available for rounds 1 and 2 but they cost £600. I went for the first day with £45 tickets.
Round 2 tickets are now available for £70, but I don't think I will be tempted at that price.

They will appear. They're going to be input this week.
Many thanks. It is an underappreciated task. It never ceases to amaze me that while, on many occasions, I can't interpet my own scoresheet, the inputter invariably can.

Re: British Championship 2018

Now more than a week after the championships have finished, I notice that (unlike previous years) none of the games have been published for any of the five day tournaments (i e. Morning Open & below) or the weekenders. Was this a deliberate policy change or just finding that there wasn't enough reso...

Re: Chess Results Server

Is there any way to stop the adverts popping up especially with Women. The adverts on this site (as many others) are targetted on what Google analytics thinks may tempt you based on your previous browsing history. (Currently I tend to get airlines and hotels.) You should be able to turn on or off m...

Re: British Championship

My journey was horrible today. Coming by train was not much fun either - muliple cancellations and mega delays, with no information about which service might run through. The train i eventually got was standing room only and failed air con. I was playing tonight, but my opponent had also had a frau...

Re: 2018 Altibox Norway

I note from New In Chess that a match Ding Liren v Navara is due to start in Prague next Tuesday. I wonder is that still on? Ding Liren has been replaced in Prague by Pemtala Harikrishna. I think the organisers were lucky to find someone of that standard available for a week at such short notice. A...
