Re: Would an underpromotion have saved me here.. move 42

Since I lost I would have been happy with a draw if the extra piece can save me.

My computer still thinks black is winning but it depends if my opponant would have found the moves

Would an underpromotion have saved me here.. move 42

Hi all. I didn't finish this game well and it makes it worse that it was a correspondant game so i had 3 days to make a move. However, i think i bottled an underpromotion on move 42 that may have saved the game. They don't come up very often and I think i greedily held onto the 7th rank pawn hoping ...

Yes.. more power the steed. I’ve said before the Knight is unique in the way it moves and once you’ve lost them both you can never again move a piece that way (underpromtion aside)

4 Extra squares to be added to the chess board. Knights only

Imagine 4 extra squares beyond each corner that can only be reached by a Knight. After the Knight lands on A1 it can move off the board to secret square where it now attacks A1. It would be rarely used and might be a bit whacky, but do you think it could catch on. An extra super power for the steed....

Rook verses 2 minor pieces exchange (pawn may also be thrown in)

Rook verses 2 minor pieces exchange (pawn may also be thrown in) I’ve heard it’s generally not a good idea to lose your own 2 minor pieces in exchange for a rook and pawn in the early stages of the game. From white’s point of view, this usually happens if a bishop and Knight point at f7 via c4 and g...

Re: Reti opening for White

Had a silly person online blindly play e5 into me so that was a nice gift.

Feels weird not moving my e pawn.
Thanks for the advice

Reti opening for White

Reti opening for White Hi. Does anyone play this system or have expeirence playing it? I quite like the appeal of this opening from a king safety point of view. Moves such as g3, Bg2, Nf3, 0-0 (not playing e4) The king looks ultra safe and I’ve recently been having trouble with the king safety. It w...
