Paul, to be fair I can see you and one or two others are willing to argue against said poster but there also seems an air of indifference amongst others which rather over rides those of us who might take a more altruistic view.

Gosh, reading this thread, and others, is pretty desperate stuff. It's a real eye opener to see how little many people care about those who find it difficult to fund their chess activities, do you actually live in the real world ? Middlesbrough chess club for years had a system of fees based on 'waged' or 'unwaged' (Ie unemployed/retired) I always thought this unfair particularly when I could have claimed the reduced fee being retired when in reality my pension is more than some peoples salary. I always paid the full fee. I ...
