Re: Chess Notes - major downscale
If it is a one man show then it's a lot of work and due a rest, but I and other suspect there is a dedicated team running things. He (they) should get adverts on it's to make some money... Chess Notes is the work of Edward Winter, and has been since 1982. The suggestion that there is "a dedicated t...

There is a great deal of information in the section headed "Raymond Keene and Tony Buzan" on this webpage.

Re: End of an era
It also provides us with the encomium Tony Buzan will do for the brain what Stephen Hawking's A Brief History of Time did for the universe which it attributes to The Times, although no specific writer is identified. A little Googling, though, suggests that the author was one Raymond Keene. I wonder...

Re: Chess & Bridge Withdraw Ray Keene's Book from Sale
Since I am not a subscriber to the BCM (I see only occasional issues electronically), may I ask what corrections, if any, the magazine has published? With thanks, - O.G. Urcan As my question of a week ago has not been answered, I assume that the BCM has published no corrections at all. The offendin...

Re: End of an era
Another one: http://iobd.org.uk/en/speakers/raymond-keene-obe. This claims that Raymond Keene is a "contributor to a number of daily print publications." At https://www.worldmemorychampionships.com/message-from-the-president-raymond-keene-obe Raymond Keene takes a stand against imitation and passing...

Re: Chess & Bridge Withdraw Ray Keene's Book from Sale
This undermines even further Jimmy Adams' car-crash defence of Raymond Keene in the BCM.

Re: Morphy...Which Opera
Geoff Chandler's "corrected" version at his website reads: "This is all the fault of the Chess Historian Edward Winter. ... Ages ago his site said that when Morphy played his famous game at the opera in Paris 1858 the opera being performed was Norma by Bellini." Edward Winter's site has never said a...

Re: Morphy...Which Opera
To cut to the chase again: at chessgames.com on 18 November 2019 Geoff Chandler falsely attributed to Edward Winter another person's remark about the Morphy opera game, and he is still refusing to post a correction on that website.

Re: Morphy...Which Opera
To cut to the chase: at the two websites mentioned, Geoff Chandler made untrue statements, and he is refusing to post corrections.

Re: Morphy...Which Opera
Geoff Chandler also misattributed the "probably The Barber of Seville" remark at chessgames.com, so he needs to make a correction there too.

Re: Morphy...Which Opera
Contrary to what Geoff Chandler writes, Edward Winter has never stated that the Morphy consultation game was played during a performance of Norma or, for that matter, during any other particular opera. As shown in his article http://www.chesshistory.com/winter/extra/morphy.html, what he has done ove...
