Really sad to heath this. When I first played him we were in our 20s. He put a lot of work into chess and had time for others.

I suspect that Iranian correspondence player is no longer with us. Hugh passed away 47 years ago. FIDE olympiads were almost 60 years ago.

He had not been involved with over-the-board chess for the past 30 years due to the banning of smoking in the 1980s.
